Where to buy

Rosco Flags and Floppies are used to block, cut, and shape light on set.

Rosco Flags are manufactured using steel spring tube construction and popular light modifying fabrics such as Molton, Nets, and Silks. They also feature a strong webbing around the frame that makes them light and easy to handle. The webbing is colour-coded to facilitate easy material identification on set. Rosco Flags are available in six standard sizes. Replacement fabric panels are sold separately and attach to the frame via Velcro.

Rosco Floppies are manufactured using Black Molton or Commando Cloth/Duvetyne fabrics. Floppies are essentially opaque flags that have an extra layer of material sewn onto one edge that “flops” open to double its size. The excess fabric of a floppy can be held in place with Velcro, enabling it to also be used as a standard-sized flag.

Standard Materials

Black Molton	The European masking product. Black to avoid light reflections.
Black Commando Cloth/Duvetyne	The American masking product also known as Duvetyne. Black to avoid light reflections.
Black Single Net	An excellent option to work with a seamless butterfly to reduce light intensity over ½ stop without altering the pattern or colour temperature. Black to avoid reflections.
White Single Net	An excellent option to work with a seamless butterfly to reduce light intensity over half stop without altering the pattern or colour temperature.
Black Double Net	Reduction of light by over 1 stop without altering the pattern or colour temperature.
White Double Net	Reduces slightly over 1 stop without altering the pattern or colour temperature.
White Artificial Silk	Great diffuser in wide width which allows the least possible seams.
Black Artificial Silk	Diffuses and softens direct light. Does not introduce ambient bounce.
1/4 White Artificial Silk	Slightly diffuses direct light. Introduces ambient bounce produced by the white fabric.
White China Silk	Softens and diffuses direct light. Creates a significant amount of ambient bounce.
